Introducción: las enfermedades crónicas no transmisibles son un problema de Salud Pública mundial que revela factores de riesgo en las personas y familias que desarrollan estas morbilidades. Objetivo: evaluar la efectividad del automanejo de la diabetes mellitus tipo 2, la hipertensión arterial y las dislipidemias en la APS, e identificar las mejores prácticas y recomendaciones que contribuyan a mejorar la salud de la población. Método: se realizó un ensayo a partir de una búsqueda de información en las bases de datos científicas de Elsevier, PubMed y Lilacs, con publicaciones en inglés, español y portugués, realizadas en personas de 15 años y más, que tuvieran alguna enfermedad crónica en control en la APS, y que se hubieran expuesto a algún proceso de educación o automanejo de su enfermedad, entre el 2019 a 2023 (ambos años incluidos). Desarrollo: existe una amplia evidencia relacionada con la Hipertensión Arterial, Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2 y Dislipidemia en la Atención Primaria de Salud, que pone en contexto estas enfermedades con determinantes sociales, factores de riesgo y de protección, aspectos culturales, educativos y asistenciales que influyen en su manejo y control. Conclusiones: el automanejo y autocontrol de estas enfermedades es clave para evaluar y frenar las prevalencias actuales, donde la población general y los sistemas sanitarios que conviven con la Estrategia de Atención Primaria de Salud, juegan un rol clave en la prevención y control de estas comorbilidades.
